TISO is supported by volunteer medical professionals who are committed to helping patients and families better understand complex medical diagnoses and treatment options. Our volunteers play an important role in providing thoughtful insight and clarity through a structured second-opinion process.
Volunteers do not provide direct medical treatment, but instead offer guidance, education, and perspective to support informed decision-making.
We welcome qualified medical professionals who are interested in contributing their expertise in a structured, ethical, and non-clinical advisory role, including:
• Medical or surgical oncologists
• General surgeons
• Gastroenterology specialists (upper and lower GI)
• Radiologists
• Pathologists
• Neurologists and neurosurgeons
• Reviewing patient diagnoses and available medical records
• Providing insight on treatment options and considerations
• Recommending additional evaluations when appropriate
• Supporting patients and families with clarity and reassurance
• Providing direct medical treatment or prescriptions
• Establishing a physician-patient relationship
• Delivering emergency or acute medical care
• Replacing the patient’s primary treating physician
• A valid medical license for physicians to practice in India is desirable but not mandatory.
• All volunteers must complete a confidentiality agreement
• Participation is flexible and based on mutual availability
• Access to case materials requires an approved contributor account
If you are a medical professional interested in contributing your expertise, please complete the volunteer form on our website. A member of our team will review your information and follow up with next steps.
